The possibilities of bilateral cooperation were discussed by representatives of KAES LLP and the Korean company KNPP
Today, the delegation of the Korean company Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) under the leadership of Executive Vice President Mr. Insik PARK once again visited Astana.
During the visit, the Korean delegation met with the leadership and employees of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KNPP LLP.
The parties discussed the current status of the NPP construction project in Kazakhstan, including the issues of choosing a construction site, safety systems and equipment transportation. The parties also discussed the organization of B2B cooperation between Kazakhstan and Korea until the end of 2023.
As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached on the continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy.
For reference: KHNP is a subsidiary of KEPCO, which owns and operates 21 nuclear power units, as well as 37 hydroelectric power plants. KHNP ranks 3rd in the world in terms of total nuclear power plant capacity.
