The IAEA SEED mission started in Astana
The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency "Site and External Events Design Review Service" (SEED) to assess the choice of the NPP location area in Kazakhstan has started in Astana today. The event was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants LLP.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, JSC "NAC "Kazatomprom", RSE "National Nuclear Center", RSE "Institute of Nuclear Physics", LLP "Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants", as well as the Institute of Seismology participate in the event from the Kazakh side RK.
The mission will take place from 2 to 6 October this year.
The IAEA experts will study the results of the work carried out on the selection of the NPP construction area and will give their assessments and recommendations based on the results.
